A Revolutionary Breakthrough in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pain

Dr. Marcus has invented a revolutionary device, Muscle Pain Detection Device (MPDD), that can electrically identify a muscle that is causing pain in any area of the body. The MPDD allows the doctor to examine the patient's muscles in a way that reproduces what happens when a patient experiences pain in their life. The usual examination uses pressure on the muscle, which is a static examination model. Muscles generally aren't painful at rest. The MPDD replicates what happens when the muscles function and move, causing pain. Until now there has been no method to isolate a single muscle and determine if it was the true source of pain in any region. This has contributed to the ignoring of muscles as a major cause of most common pain problems and in this way, has led to countless unnecessary tests, injections, and surgeries costing billions of dollars.

An example of how the MPDD will change the life of patients in pain is found in the accompanying film clip from ABC's Eyewitness News*, which shows two patients who were considered untreatable and whose lives were totally disrupted by persistent back and leg pain. These patients are an example of the results achieved by most patients who are evaluated and treated based on an accurate physical assessment that takes into account the role of muscles in producing common pain patterns.
